Shab-e-Tilai — the gilded night. When darkness is not absence, but its own kind of light.

A floor-length gown in jet-black velvet jacquard, embroidered entirely in real gold zardozi. The bodice is dense — a near-armour of metallic thread, fitted close to the body. From the waist, the embroidery loosens into floral sprays that climb up the skirt as if growing in candlelight. The back is open, finished with a single gold tassel.

This is not a wedding gown. This is a piece for the woman in the front row — at the gallery opening, the embassy dinner, the wedding where she is not the bride but cannot be missed.

The making

• Fabric: Italian velvet jacquard, silk-lined
• Embroidery: Hand zardozi in real gold tilla, with sequin and antique gold detail
• Hand-work: Approximately 420 hours
• Timeline: Five to six weeks from confirmation

Customisation

• Available in jet black, midnight aubergine, and oxblood
• Gold can be swapped for antique silver or rose gold
• Sleeve: sleeveless, cap, or three-quarter
• Back can be made closed for a more conservative finish
